"The 1970–71 season was the 91st season of competitive football in England. Arsenal won the league championship at the end of a season which would soon be followed by their FA Cup final tie with Liverpool. Arsenal secured the league title at White Hart Lane, the home of bitter rivals Tottenham. They narrowly overcame Leeds to win the league, with a 12-point gap separating Leeds from third-placed Tottenham. Wolves and Liverpool joined these two teams in the UEFA Cup. Chelsea missed out on the top five on goal average but compensated for this shortcoming by achieving European Cup Winners' Cup glory over Real Madrid.

Leicester City and Sheffield United were promoted to the First Division. Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, two of the most famous and historic names in English football, were relegated to the Third Division."

FKS Soccer Stars 1971 Sticker Packet

In 1971, FKS spiced up their Soccer Stars Picture Stamp football sticker albums. In this edition, they've expanded the collection to 50 pages, nearly double the number of pages of previous editions. The 420 football stickers now comprise both English First Division stickers and Second Division, as well as a special Stars of Division 2 section, and stars of World Cup 1970.

The start of the FKS Wonderful World of Soccer Stars Gala Collection 1970-1971 is as we've come to expect from previous years. 15 football stickers per page, each page being a single team from the English First Division. After moving through the division, in alphabetical order, we get a last to the new additions. Birmingham City kick off the Division Two teams in the same layout as the Division One.

The Second Division Star Gallery appears at this point, with 44 football stickers of the "most prominent" players in Division Two. After three pages of the Star Gallery we move into the European Cup section. Celtic appear first as runners-up, then over the page are the winners, Feyenoord.

The final page of the FKS Soccer Stars Gala Edition is "Star Players of Mexico 70", showing 16 stickers of the most notable faces from the World Cup.
