The Official PFA Collection Super Players 98 Panini Sticker Collection (what a title!), is the last sticker album to appear in a strange phase of football stickers for Panini, Merlin, the FA and the PFA. Ever since the Premier League first came on the scene in 1993, the football sticker books from Panini have had to adapt to no longer having the license from the FA. To get round this, they've approached from a different angle, with assistance from the PFA to get the top league players and clubs into their albums. The Super players 98 album is the final time they tried this approach, as it became clear that the wasn't the room for two publishers making football albums in the same leagues.
The Panini Super Players 98 football album is arranged in a novel way, football stickers 1 to 360 are each for a different footballer. These football stickers are arranged solely by alphabetical surname of the players, so no club grouping. The stickers are four to a page,
The centre of the album features a 'Shiny Super Heroes' section. 24 shiny stickers, making up 12 two-part players, each demonstrating a key skill on the pitch.with the sticker, a selection of stats, and a quote from the player written below. The colour scheme for each players text boxes is dependent on the club they play for - so Arsenal players have red boxes, whereas Newcastle players have black boxes. Stats on each player include age, weight, height, position, career honours, last season stats and overall career stats by club. There is also a brief biography paragraph.
