“Fernando Torres struck the only goal in the Vienna showpiece as Spain, without a title in 44 years, finally came good on their promise.

'Trix and Flix' the UEFA Euro 2008 MascotsSpain's 44-year wait for a trophy came to an end at UEFA EURO 2008 as Luis Aragonés's side defeated Germany 1-0 to deservedly win a competition they had taken by storm.

Fernando Torres provided the killer blow in the final, darting past Philipp Lahm before shooting beyond the advancing Jens Lehmann to spark Spanish celebrations. The Roja had achieved what their predecessors had so often failed to do: deliver on their potential. Their success was, in large part, due to Aragonés who had fostered a harmonious atmosphere in a squad blessed with talent. They dazzled with pace, passing and power en route to claiming their country's first title since the 1964 UEFA European Championship.”

Panini Euro 2008 Sticker Packet

The Panini UEFA Euro 2008 Austria-Switzerland Sticker Album follows the Panini trend with the opening page, showing a historic record of the winners and runners up, in the Roll of Honour section. Stickers shown on the front page are the UEFA Fair Play stickers, Trophy, Official Logo and Official Mascots – a pair of daft looking Sonic the Hedgehog wannabes.

Turning the page, we’re presented with 8 more stickers - shiny venue logos, showing progress from start to finish. There are also boxes here for you to fill in the scores and chart the team’s progress. After this come two double-spreads of two-part stadium stickers, from all around Austria and Switzerland.

Panini Euro 2008 No.56

The team pages start at Group A with Switzerland, each team is allocated a double-spread and third overflow page, showing and artistic impression of the flag (the flag with some swooshy background image faded in), the club badge and, unusually for this type of Panini album, a four-part team photo sticker! The squad football stickers take up the remaining two pages, with only simple vital statistics listed below for each player. A brief box at the end of each team’s section discusses the country’s route  to the finals.
The rear of the Panini Euro 2008 Sticker Album contains a special ‘In Action’ section of

stickers, with players from each of the teams, and the final double-spread in the collection is a look back at historic Euro Championships, with stickers from the finals.
